I can't believe it took me so long to come back to one of my favorite restaurants! Took a friend for her first time visit.
We started off with a couple of cocktails. I had the garden gimlet. It was on the sweeter side, which I prefer. But not overly sweet. It was quiet subtle.
We ordered the deep fried squid balls. That's not what they were called, but it's an accurate description. They were okay. We also the tako and tomato and the grapefruit and hamachi. Loved them both! Always have! We also ordered the other special. It was a whole fish sashimied. Once you finish the sashimi, they take the bones and deep fry them so you can eat them! Very interesting. Our final dish, we ordered on a whim. It was the clams and the mushrooms. By far, the best dish of the night! It comes in some sort of plastic wrapping. The broth was insanely fragrant and it tasted better than it smelled. The mushrooms were perfect. I could eat this dish every day.
Service was great. I forgot my blazer and one of their staff chased me around the corner to return it.
