  • So apparently, I'm weird. People love Cartel and Lux but I'm quite the opposite. Cartel is definitely not your typical cafe. I was at ASU for an interview so I stopped here afterwards to avoid traffic. I guess it is supposed to look like a lab so the entrance seemed odd. I wasn't sure if it was the front door or not. Anyway once I got past that, I found my way. I ordered a cafe mocha and I don't like that it was served in a plastic cup verses a mug. The cafe mocha had a weird taste to it. I don't know how to explain it but it didn't taste like all of the mochas I've had before. The barista wasn't very friendly either. Even when I explained that it was my first time there. All guys, too. Which is fine, but smile..... Very hipster vibe....not my type. I don't think I will be returning. Just not for me.
