| - (another situation in which I wish there was a "Zero Stars" option!)
I decided to take some old jeans here "just to see". I truthfully didn't think they'd "want" any of them because, although lightly worn, they were older American Eagle labels, but I tested it any anyhow--mostly I wanted to see if they had anything of interest to buy.
That said... I'll outline my experience and walk you through what I saw...
I arrive @ 7pm and there's a guy already in line in front of me at the "drop your stuff off" desk. He's kindly and patiently waiting while the girl behind the desk looks at him, says nothing and continues to ignore him.
FINALLY after about 10 minutes, she comes over and says "what do you need?"
He says "I'm here to pick up my stuff or get an estimate? My time was 7 o'clock; I was told to come back at 7."
HER: "Name?"
HIM: "[his name]"
HER: [fumbles around behind the counter] "It aint ready yet. I guess I could do it, but I'm really busy"
HIM: "okay, how long will that take?"
HER: "[sigh] I *guess* if I do it, like, *right now* it'll be like 20 minutes"
HIM: "Okay, I'll wait."
HER: [rolls her eyes and walks away]
Now it's my turn... oh bloody, Christ... I can't wait! O_o
I seriously stood there for a looooong time before she (or anyone) paid any attention to there being anyone in line.
I drop off my stuff, it was uneventful except for the fact that they ask for your ID to drop things off for appraisal. Not a problem; however, I say to the girl, my license has my maiden name and i have my update card right here [as I'm getting it out of my wallet too]. She says "I don't even need that so that don't getting it out".
She then tells me to "fill out this card with your info so we can take your stuff".
Really? WTF? Does this chick have ANY sort of social skills for working in a retail/service industry?
I fill out and hand the card to her.
She takes my stuff.
That's it.
I go back today to see if my jeans are "worth anything" or to just pick them up...
I go in, she (the SAME dim-witted jerk of a chick) looks at me a dozen times before even acknowledging me, then....
EUREKA; Holy Santa Claus Shit, I'm not invisible!!!
HER: "what can i do for you"
ME: "I'm here to see about my drop off?"
HER: "name"
ME: "[my last name]"
HER: [looking at the shelves and bags] "what's the name again? I don't have that here"
ME: "[my last name... again]"
HER: "when were you here?"
ME: "[i tell her]"
HER: [she checks some sort of manually written log book of drop-offs and, low and behold, there's NO record of me!]
She then goes to the shelves again and moves some bins and bags around and on the shelf (after she's moved some things), guess what I see? My MAIDEN name handwritten on a drop off tag on a bag!
Remember when I tried giving her my update card and she got an attitude with me?
Yeah, Sunshine... it *did* matter because you almost screwed up pretty badly!
I mean... If I were an unreasonable person, I really could have just kept my mouth shut about seeing her poorly tagged work and said "now you owe me something because you've lost my stuff"
Overall, now...
PROS:
n/a
CONS:
Terribly sh!tty staff (I cannot stress this enough)!
It's a huge pain in the butt to look through the racks of stuff; it's like going to a garage sale or a poorly organized clearance rack!
A lot of the stuff is really old; I saw a shirt on the rack that was from Aeropostale that was seriously a 4 year old shirt; I know this because I bought the *same* distinctive shirt from Aero when I started a new job 4 years ago.
Very disorganized drop off system.
(and that is all that I can comment on because that's all that I've experienced).
*In the future, I'd rather just donate this stuff to friends or the Salvation Army or something; it's not worth the ignorance endured @ Plato's Closet!!!
