  • The absolutely worst plumbing outfit I have ever had to work with. Our water heater broke at 10 pm Wednesday night. American Home Shield provided AM PM as our service provider. On Thursday morning I called AMPM 14 times before a woman finally answered the phone. Thursday morning through Friday afternoon, (I made a total of 69 telephone calls to AMPM and they answered three times!!!!!!!) She said that they could be out between 12 and 2 pm. This was a last minute appointment without any problems. She said that they do not replace the water heaters on the same day??????? The tech showed up and wrote up the problem correctly stating that replacement for 50 gal, 40k BTU was needed. On Friday morning, I called AMPM 23 times before the same woman answered the phone. She said that a tech would be out again between 12 and 2 to replace our water heater. Again, a last minute appointment. The tech arrived around 2:15 with an undersized water heater. I was told by the tech that a 36k BTU heater was all the plumbing supply had so he took that. I refused the heater and said I wanted what was supposed to be provided. He said that he could not go back out and get a 40k BTU tank and return and that I would have to call the office and reschedule????? I called another 32 times before the lady answered. I told her what had transpired and that I needed the water heater replaced today. She said that AHS would have to order the correct part for them to pick up. This is the second time she told me that AHS orders the parts. AHS swears that they do not order the water heaters, the plumbing company does. I told the AMPM lady to schedule me for Saturday at 12 to 2 since that's the time they have come the last two days. She then told me that they were booked for the weekend????????? They hadn't finished my job yet and were blowing me off to make money from other people. So AMPM wasn't going to fix my water heater until maybe Monday, a total of four days without hot water. I contacted AHS authorization and they were blown away with AMPM's conduct, including not answering their phone. AHS tried calling several times to tell AMPM to get my water heater installed but could not get anyone at AMPM to answer the phone. Stay away from AMPM would be my recommendation. Horrendous company to deal with.
