| - I live nearby this salon, and it definitely catches your eye whenever you walk past it. Since the reviews were so good, I figured I would give this a try.
I booked an appointment with Tomomi. I was a bit early, so was asked to take a seat in the waiting area situated by the window. They had a lot of magazines you can flip through.
Tomomi came to greet me almost as soon as I sat down. We had a brief discussion about the kind of cut I wanted from the photos I brought on my phone. Then she washed my hair. Before she started cutting, though, she went to bring me some magazines to read, which I thought was super sweet. After the cut, she did a bit of styling while she blow-dried my hair.
After tax and tip, the total came to around $80. I was there for around 50 minutes.
Like other reviewers, I wouldn't say the cut is very different from what I would get with the popular stylists in Koreatown for $30-40. (But it could be because I asked for something very simple.) At the same time, there was no "salon" smell like the places in Koreatown, the interiors of are more lush, and it was so convenient to get to. For that, I'm okay paying the premium.
