| - 5 STAR EXPERIENCE thanks to Debbie & Janell! I got the SNS nails bc my regular nails were horribly stripped from the 100% acetone I used to remove my old acrylics. I've been getting my acrylics done when I was in Guam for years. Recently they've been worse--peeling and stripping away layer by layer. I had food & beverage jobs for the past few years that are harsh on the nails bc the constant handwashing. Today was the worst my nails have ever looked. I didn't want to get my nails done til I found a great place and my sister recommended Debbie's new nail boutique and described a treatment that would strengthen rather than harm my natural nails, but was similar to acrylic with how long-wearing it was.
When I walked into the boutique I felt welcomed from the very start. The decor is cute, clean, and young. Debbie asked what I would need and I showed her my nails which I was embarrassed about. She did not judge at all but told me about the SNS treatment like my sister did and I was sold. I asked how long the wait would be (there were only a few ppl because it is Super Bowl Sunday today) and Debbie responded that I'd be seen right now by Janell. I was asked by Chris (?) what I'd like to drink and I told them it was fine, but when my sister walked in after I was seated and asked for a mimosa I couldn't resist! It was delicious.
Janell took great care of me. She got to work at once, using acetone at first to get rid of the remainder of acrylic that I couldn't remove. She then asked my choice of color & if I wanted to keep the length, then buffed & prepped my nails for the SNS treatment. I sipped my delicious mimosa while Janell asked me about myself and told me a little about herself as well. What I liked about SNS is that it doesn't need a UV light to cure, and was quick. Janell asked me if I liked the shape and thickness of my nails after she finished each hand, which I appreciated. Took only 45 minutes from prep to dry.
I'm on day 3, no chips, all compliments, and I'm still waiting for my nails to grow out to see how they remove it.
--UPDATE--
Been back 3 times already to see Janell, & my nails are looking sooo much healthier! No peeling or cracking. The only time my nails chipped so far were when we inadvertently waited 5 weeks before coming back, I had a tiny chip. Nail polish removal is with acetone, but the lack of UV lights to cure really makes me feel good about where I get my nails done. I will be sticking with SNS.
