  • Looking for a new car, down to the CRV and a RAV4. We were more impressed with the interior/performance of the Honda and went that route. Salesperson Don Bronson was attentive and patient and helped us through the process. We went with the Costco price, although who knows if it was the best price we could have reached, but we skipped the whole, dreaded negotiating process. We got a good trade in on our car and happy with the price. It came to time to pick up the car and got to visit the business manager for the closing. He was cordial but after going over the basics, we had to discuss the options. Extended warranty (around $1769) to extend the warranty an extra 5 years and cover most non-wearable items and a warranty on environmental issues (undercover, paint, interior) another $800. Both might be a good value but to throw these to buyers in the final minutes of purchase is really unfair. After many hours of exploring and deciding which car you want to buy, and then asking you decide if you want to spend an extra 10-15% when you are ready to drive home is really unfair. I'm sure it helps Zimbrick's bottom line, but driving home in our new car which should have been a celebratory trip was really one of reflection if we had been "taken" for extra money. It may turn out to be a good investment, but the dealership should really have revealed these items much earlier in the process. Will reconsider ever buying a car there again.
