| - Had a really nice time at the PLHM yesterday. We went for Harvest Fest, our family of five tickets were $12 pp, since we purchased ahead of time; online. Food (bbq, or snacks like chips, popcorn) were extra, as well as a few other activities. Gold panning, pumpkin and face painting and I believe, the Tea Room...but only at a cost of $1-4 per activity extra. So not some crazy fee driven place.
After our complimentary fall family photo, which will be emailed, our kids enjoyed the hay maze, trolley ride, gun show, bounce houses, sack races...They had quite a bit for everyone. I do wish that it had an actual pumpkin patch and corn maze (that is just my missing the Pacific NW fall experience, I suppose). They were just a bunch of pumpkins on pieces of hay in the grass, but every family got one FREE nicely sized pumpkin!
I didn't see horses, but this would be a perfect place for a guided horse tour. They had a few vendors, not many. It might be an area for improvement.
We had to rush out before 12, but you could easily spend a good portion of the day there walking the grounds and seeing the old buildings. So four stars because I think this place can only get better and should! And the bonus---everyone we encountered was happy and friendly. Even the sheriff who said had 'extra room' in his jail.
