I still tell my husband, "There's something wrong with the VCR, I can't' get it to work!" I guess I haven't made the transition that we have a Blue Ray DVD player but that name is too long. I still have all my cassettes-I should probably donate them but I can't bear to part with The Bangles lucky for me my car has a cassette player (and no it's not a Trans-Am).
Back home my sisters and I would spend many Saturday mornings at the Flea Markets, Antique Stores and a few thrift shops and it was always fun to find special "trinkets". Once I found a leopard print pill box hat, some glittery gold long evening gloves and a few fabulous antique hand bags. Always wondered how much fun the stories would be behind these treasures. I decorate my closet with these fabulous finds-so I have put them to good use!
So when I wandered in this store I didn't expect to find antiques but I did find a Monopoly game (Pirates of the Caribbean version) for only $3.99 and when you have two little kids who end up losing interest or losing pieces to the game why pay full price?
I also found some champagne glasses (the 60s type) I didn't buy them but a great find. Lots of cookbooks, travel books, coffee table books, DVDs and VCR tapes.
I can't believe it took me this long to get here. This store did not have that typical thrift store smell at all. It was super clean and organized. Staff was very friendly too. The selection was limited on the costumes which is brought us in but lots of other fun stuff to see.
