| - So I decided to give Stoney's one last try to win me over because my girlfriend asked me to take her. We gave up on this place about 9 months ago because it's just hasn't been fun like it used to. I used to go a lot when I turned 21 but the place has gone majorly downhill in the last 4 years.
First, we walk in on Thursday for ladies night. They raised the cover for men to $10 now and ladies have a cover of $5. I don't mind paying a cover but $15 for a place that has 40 people in there just isn't right. There are a lot better places (Gilleys) that I can go to that doesn't charge a cover at all.
Second, I figured since I had to pay extra money for the cover I'll get my use out of some free pool they offer there. Nope, pool tables aren't free anymore. $1.25 to play each round. Well whatever I'm here so I'm going to shoot some pool. Put my quarters in and only half of the balls come out. I go and ask an employee if he can get the rest out for me since I just put my money in. Nope, his solution; put another $1.25 in the machine to get the rest of them out. Needless to say it became an expensive night for what I received.
Third, the staff are not very friendly. It's their way or the highway. Asking them for change for a $5 was like asking them to go pay for my drinks. I was also told that if I don't turn my hat around the correct way that I would be kicked out. What?
Fourth, the ladies drink cups are now smaller. So I opened a tab so that my girlfriend could just go back and keep getting drinks whenever she wanted. After looking at them closer I noticed they are visibly smaller from what they used to be and they were smaller than the cups the give the men. She also said that she couldn't even taste the vodka in her cup. She said it was basically and sprite and ice. Also prices for all you can drink beer was raised $5.
Fifth, the music is extremely bad. If you're truly into country music don't come here. I would list Stoneys as a "dance hall with an occasional pop country song." Taylor Swift, The band perry, rascal flatts, luke bryan with a hip hop beat doesn't classify as country music. No Eric Church, no Justin Moore, no BG, no Garth, no Randy Travis, no good ole country music. If you wanna come dance to that 2 hops this time then this is your place. But this is by no means a country bar. I highly recommend never coming in. If you're going to a country bar I highly recommend going to Gilleys. Much better staff, drink prices, and country atmosphere.
