I know for a fact I've reviewed these guys before. No idea where that review is...
Anyway, let's try it again:
For Pittsburgh they're a five star BBQ joint (most of the time) and for other parts of the country known for BBQ they're a four.
I gave an overall rating of four because on my latest visit I crunched at least four pieces of bone in my pulled chicken sandwich. Aside from that horrific experience, the smoked chicken flavor with the standard sauce had nice backyard cookout taste.
The brisket sandwich is tender with the same backyard cookout flavor.
There are several different sauces, the hottest being called "after burner", which does have a kick. But I've definitely had spicier sauces.
The tomatoes and rice and tomatoes with okra are really delicious.
I love, love, love the macaroni and cheese.
So over the span of 6-7 visits I'd say overall it's been a good experience. And because it's within walking distance to our house, I'm sure we'll go again.
