| - We had a chance to wait for a few minutes before a table was ready. It gave my wife and I a chance to enjoy the cool photos they have for sale. They also have jazz playing. Not "let's-play-a-Michael-Jackson-song-and-add-a-saxophone-to-it" smooth jazz, no this is straight ahead jazz. I enjoy that on a lazy Sunday.
We received an order of fresh potato chips and sauce. Compliments of the chef.
My wife had the biscuits and gravy. The hot links were just spicy enough. Interesting that they use a brown gravy instead of the usual.
I ordered the eggs Benedict. After I ordered, the staff informed me that they had run out of the slab bacon, so I had to settle for the regular ham. It was okay. The hollandaise had a bit more lemon than I usually like but it was not off-putting. I was a little upset. If I have my taste buds ready for something, I do not appreciate substitutions well. I'm whiney? Sure! Do I pay for my food? Yes! So, I guess I can act like a disappointed middle schooler if I want. Usually, after careful thought and reflection, I can appreciate what I had, but in this case, I really was intrigued by this "slab bacon" and was quite disappointed by getting something less. I get it. It's popular. I can understand limit of product. I thought we were there early enough. Maybe because it was the day after the time change...who knows. It certainly did not take away from the quality of the meal nor the staff. Both were impeccable.
After our meal, the chef sent out moist chocolate chip cookies with yummy cream sauce. Very good.
So, the verdict was, we liked it well enough to try it again and I would definitely recommend giving this place a try. I'm sure you will dig it.
