This is a really nice hotel. AMAZING views of the mountains from our corner suite. Windows wrapped around on three sides of the room and looking out from the 40th floor everyday was awesome! The common areas of the hotel are spotless. The room itself could use a deep cleaning. Not dirty by any means but it's beginning to show signs of wear and tear. I.E.- carpets weren't very clean, not gross but not clean either, toilet paper holder was coming off the wall, and I had to clean out one of the bathroom sink drains because there was a major hair clog. I felt that someone should be walking the rooms on a regular basis with a little bit more of a critical eye. But PLEASE don't let this sway you away from Vdara, it is a GREAT hotel, COMPLETELY SMOKE FREE, AMAZING VIEWS, nice staff, not crazy busy or crawling with people. It is a great place to stay to get away from the madness that can be Vegas and we will DEFINITELY be staying there again in March when we return.
One thing that did bother me was there were no pots or pans or even silverware in the unit. Not even a coffee maker. This seemed odd to me considering it has a fully functional kitchen but you had no way of using it. I was informed that IF I wanted a coffee maker there would be an additional $20 per day charge to the room. Even with Starbucks coffee costing $4.75 a cup this wouldn't be feasible for me to do. I personally felt this was a bit of price gouging. I mean why give someone a fully functional kitchen and then charge them for the things they would need to use it? It would be like giving me a bed and then charging me for the linens if I wanted to sleep on sheets. Just saying......
