| - Went to The Saint last night for a drink and a snack. The space looks nice, bright, and fresh, if a little cold for a tavern (at least in the front area, where we sat).
One thing that surprised me was the short menu. All the items lacked any sort of description of the dish. And the prices. SIGH. $16 for a cocktail is the new norm I suppose ... but $18 for a salt cod fritter appetizer? That s**t cray. And naturally, that is what we ordered, at the high praise of the server. It was tasty...did I detect bacon and green olives in that special sauce? No idea. They were very tasty, no doubt, but for what they were, pricey indeed.
Not sure that I'm excited to return...too rich for my blood, especially for basics like pot pies and burgers. I don't mind spending money on good food, but I tend to get more excited about creations that are more unique and memorable.
Seems like a good place for beer with friends, if you are lucky enough to snag a booth!
Oh yeah, it is also LOUD
