  • The ABSOLUTE WORST!! Do not go here. If you have to go all the way to the other side of the city to see an other eye doctor DO THAT! This eye doctor is insulting, ableist, and will treat you like garbage if you have mental illness. He blamed my poor eyesight on my mental illness and also on my medication. Astigmatism cannot be and is not caused by mental illness OR medication!! He asked if i was taking medication, and i truthfully answered yes. He asked what it was for and i truthfully told him bi-polar 2. Immediately he told me this was the reason i was having sight issues. He told me i should 'try an other cocktail of meds'. He didnt want to even look at my eyes. I almost had a panic attack. He treated me like i was subhuman and to crazy to know what was going on with my eyes. When he did check my eyes, he crammed the eye thing into my neck and acted like I was the one giving him problems. Then he whipped through the lenses so fast he caught my eyelashes several times and it hurt. I have a panic disorder so i felt trapped and didnt know what to do. He then looked in my eye and told me i have an astigmatism. He wasnt happy at all that there actually was something wrong with my eyes. However he was sure to blame my meds and mental illness a few more times before he pushed me out the door. No explaination about my prescription. The secretary handed it to me and just told me to order glasses online. When i got my glasses the prescription was wrong. He added magnification to it and i dont need that. Odsp covers my eye appointment but i have to go to the same doctor to fix a prescription or pay out of pocket for a different one. I cant afford that to i went back. He got really angry and said no one has ever complained or had a problem with his prescription. That i was insulting him. Refused to explain the prescription. Told me again it was my mental illness and meds. Finally he removed the magnification on my prescription but was sure to tell me that if its not right its not his problem and i would have to see someone else because odsp wont cover anything else. This was my first time needing glasses. I cried when i left both times. No one should be made to feel like they are to stupid or 'crazy' to know whats going on with their body. No one should be shamed and dehumanized for having mental illness. Honestly its been 8 months since i went and this still causes me sever anxiety. I will be filling a complaint with the college of optometrists. Do not go to this eye doctor.
