| - Decided to head down and check out the place after their extensive remodel. Where do I start?? Parking. Parking was a bit confusing as the parking garage is small, tight and lacks decent signage. To get to the casino from the garage you have to walk on hot asphalt without being sure your going the right way. We got to some doors and they were locked, had to walk all the way around to the front. Upon entrance the place looked and smelled good but the music was blasting and almost drove me back out, wayyyy toooo loud and not my type of music. We walked around a bit looking for the machines we like to play and found them but the pay tables were pretty, pretty tight so we thought we would go to the bar, have a drink and play some video poker. We went to the sports book bar, my wife could not see the machines when sitting on the stool, bar stools are way to short, a bit strange as they just spent hundreds of millions and you cant even see a poker machine from the bar stool. So we said decided to try the new bar on the casino floor. Sat down and struggled to get the attention of the bar tender as she was busy chatting with someone, plus the music was way to loud. Decided to go to the main lounge bar. Finally got a good seat at a poker machine, put in 100 and ordered a drink for my wife and a drink for me. Bartender, who said he wasnt officially a bartender but could help, brought us the drinks as i was going through my 100 on a tight machine. I gave the guy who brought me our drink a 2 dollar tip. He came back a minute later and told me i owed him 18!!!! WTF??? I am playing $1 video poker. He told me my wife was not playing and i needed to pay for her cocktail. I begrudgingly paid the 18, plus the 2 tip. So 20 for a vodka tonic. Come on! I quickly cashed out and we proceeded to the steak house. Long story short, steak house was mediocre at best and priced like it was the best on the strip. In summary:
Pros:
Place looked and smelled good
Cons:
- Is not designed with a gambler in mind. Music too loud and unfriendly unionized staff
- Dont know who they are. Im not sure if they are a hip hop place, as the music and atmosphere portrayed it, or a casino, or a night/day club or are they trying to be everything to everyone with bellagio prices. Domestic beer: $6.50 Vodka tonic: &18. in the lounge
- Not real convenient parking
- Sketchy people walking all over i.e. parking lot, casino, restrooms....
- horrible players club. Didnt really understand the sign up benefit, lost 200 and still to this day have not received a thank you mailing or anything.
Otherwise the place looked and smelled great.
