  • A few things about Dr. Steven Goldman. He is more of a salesman than a skilled surgeon. I initially went to see him in early 2017. He was switching to a larger office across the street from his original one. I went based on a reccomendation from a friend (he did her breast augmentation) and he seemed to have a rather noticeable Internet presence. He was rushed yet polite and quoted me a price of nearly $13,000 for a revision rhinoplasty. Most surgeons charge an inital consult fee to see them (as did he) so instead of visiting several different surgeons I decided to go ahead and schedule surgery with him three months later. In the O.R. prior to going in for the rhinoplasty, it was obvious he did not remember who I was. I mentioned something about the initial consult and he seemed confused but then tried to save face again by displaying his sterling bedside manner. He was attentive post-procedure and called me at home. But it was obvious he did not address the issues I wanted corrected with my nose which I indicated to him in the consultation. I decided to wait and see if there was an improvement as swelling decresed. Fast forward seven months later and during Thanksgiving my friends and family informed me they couldn't see any difference in my nose (I wanted their opinion because it was hard to admit I blew so many thousands of dollars for nothing). Essentially I donated $13k to Dr. Goldman (ostensibly to fund his new office.) I emailed him and he was once again unfailingly polite and offered to refund the "majority" of my fee. I went to see him a few days later and he too admitted the rhinoplasty did not turn out as planned (although what I really wanted addressed structurally he could not have performed seeing as how he didn't even recognize me pre-surgery). He doesn't have the training or the skill to achieve desired results and he knows this yet he still just wants your money. He offered $5k as a refund (which was NOT the majority of my fee) or the offer to re-do the surgery for free. He is quite cocky and seemed to refer to himself as one of the best surgeons in the area when others I have spoken with told me I made a mistake in trusting him with my surgery and hard earned money. Several other women in the area have reported to me that they also were put off by how cocky this man was... Again, without the talent to back up his demeanor. He told me to "think about" his offer. He has young impressionable women working for him who seem to back up everything he says. When I went to my follow up appointment there was a young nurse sitting in the room with us and for some reason she just kept saying "mm-hmm" literally every 10 seconds in the background. I requested a check for my refund; I will now be seeing another surgeon for a re-do rhinioplasty and am quite angered by the pain, expense and time wasted with Dr. Goldman. I emailed him that night and informed him $5k was not the "majority" of my fee which he stated he could refund and that it wasn't right to take my money after such disappointing results. He then offered $7k which he said was "equitable." How is it equitable that he keep $5k for a botched surgery which did not go as planned? That I once again have to endure time, pain and expense to fix his mistake? Why would I trust him again to do my surgery after this nightmare of an experience? He said there were no medical complication (I agree there were not) but the results were astoundingly medicore and I WANT MY REMAINING $5K REFUNDED. Sadly I'm not getting it back but that is why I'm writing this review... To warn others so they don't have to suffer as I did and get ripped off.
