  • You ready for this one? So my kids phone was stolen, I had insurance so no bigs we get a new Samsung Galaxy 7. I live in the south part of town and service with AT&T has become so bad I can't even make a call from my house and it takes around 4 min to get a text out, not joking. So after nine years I am switching. I attempt to unlock phone through site and it's a no go. I call customer service and was told I have to go into the store to get help because they have "better tools" to assist me. The only positive part of this story is the customer service rep Jay, who was awesome. He helped me the best he could but was told by Advanced AT&T tech that even though I had the AT&T service insurance replacement plan it's actually Samsung themselves that sends the phone through the insurance co to me so AT&T has no record of it and cannot unlock my phone and I would have to call Samsung directly to unlock it. I call Samsung and they stated no AT&T has to because they are your carrier. I call back AT&T and was told they have no idea what to do but will open up a claim and it will take awhile before I get an answer. So let's recap, I have insurance through AT&T but when you use that service Samsung sends the phone but AT&T has no record of it and no body can tell me how to unlock the phone. So when I switch tomorrow I have a brand new 7 I can't use and have to pay for a new one because two huge major companies have no idea what they are doing. So long AT&T and Samsung hello T-Mobile at Apple.
