This place is pretty great but not perfect. You can't beat the location. It's right across from the epicentre, a few blocks from the convention center, and a few blocks from the Hornets arena. The rooms appear to have been updated recently, and they're well put together. The staff was pleasant enough.
It's the little cracks that make you wonder about the whole facility.
My room overlooked the epicentre, which was fairly quiet on Wednesday but turned to a party on Thursday. This is not a room you would want to hang out in thanks to the enormous amount of bass coming from the party, and while the hotel did have a note in the room mentioning that they had included a sleep kit for my stay, it wasn't there. They did have wave noise on the TV but who wants to sleep to a screen with the static on it? Thankfully, I had some ear plugs in my bag.
Also, the shower in this place was out of control. I felt like that seinfeld scene where they buy the eastern european shower heads that ends up nearly blasting Kramer out of the shower. I like shower pressure as much as the next guy, but there was no way to even adjust the shower pressure. Seems like a simple thing to adjust when you're upfitting the hotel.
Other than that, a nice experience!
