| - I really wish everyone would make the switch to Winco! I rave about this grocery store all the time!
I'm 100% a food snob, I can admit it. Other than cheat meals, I don't eat or purchase anything processed. With that, grocery trips tend to be pretty expensive. I've always known of Winco, since it opened a couple years ago, but it's not very close to home. There's actually about 7 grocery stores between my house and Winco, I never made a point to shop here until one day I ran in to grab something after I left Sports Authority across the parking lot. I was amazed at all there was to offer. Without further ado, here's why I choose to shop here over any other store:
1.) Their Bulk Food selection is one of the best things to ever happen to me! Well, like Top 40. Almost anything dry that you could think of is in there, i.e. Olive Oil, PB(okay, the first two aren't necessarily "dry"), Rawhide Dog Bones, Dehydrated Fruits, Oatmeal, Granola, Trail Mix, Jelly Beans, PB Cups, Chocolate Covered Pretzels, Tea Bags, Almond Flour, Dried Herbs, Honey, Pasta, etc. I could go on for awhile. - Always check the bulk selection prior to purchasing any name brand dry foods throughout the aisles. It's much cheaper!
2.) MEAT! I always felt like meat from Wal-Mart's deli shrank excessively while I was cooking it. That's because it does. Google: "Trisodium Phosphate." - Anyhow, I notice when I purchase Chicken, or Steaks at Winco, I end up with the amount I paid for.
3.) Produce Quality. For starters, they have a much larger Organic Produce selection than most stores. What I can't find in the Organic bunker, I am able to find throughout the rest of the produce section. All of the produce I purchase here lasts quite a few days longer than when I get it at other stores. The prices on the fruits/veggies at Winco, are either equivalent or lower than Wal-Mart.
4.) The whole Check-out Line situation is a breeze! I love that I get to bag my own groceries! I bring my own reusable-bags, it's refreshing that the cashiers don't cop an attitude when their eye catches them in my cart.
Bonus point! 5.) There's huge parking spaces. This used to be a Costco building, so if you drive something larger than a beer can, there's room between vehicles to load you groceries in the cab.
Everything about this store is winning! Just remember, *NO CREDIT CARDS.* I've seen quite a few people get through the line with a cart full of groceries, just to be turned away for not having *Cash, Debit or a Check.*
