Had a great night at social yesterday. I was leaving east end food co-op in east lib and I was looking for a very good salad.
I had only been here once almost two years ago after a yelp event but never ate their food. We were seated right away and ordered out drinks. I was driving so I ordered a virgin margarita. It was so delicious and somehow carbonated but extremely tasty, not overly sweet with a sugar rim.
For our entrees we ordered two salads and a turkey burger with the tomato soup. My salad was the grilled shrimp one with a hard boiled egg. It came with the lime vinaigrette but their southwest dressing was way better. My hubby ordered the southwest salad complete with black beans, corn, warm chicken and avocado.
First off even without dressing my salad was great! The feta cheese alone was so flavorful that each bite tasted greAt!! The shrimp had that great grilled flavor and was nice and juicy. Instead of tossing the salad in the dressing I decided to just dip it in the dressing to save on calories. This worked really well because I only needed half the dressing for the entire salad.
My husband really enjoyed his salad as well, the warm chicken tasted so good with the cold lettuce cheese and onions. Onions always make a salad taste great!!
We split a turkey burger and tomato soup which I was surprised how well it tasted. The turkey burger was plump and juicy not dry, accompanied with sweet mango salsa and Gouda cheese. Very simple burger yet very delicious. The tomato soup is probably the second best I've ever had which will definitely make me come back for more. I was never a huge tomato soup person but this place hit the nail on the head for me. It had some nice texture to it unlike the Campbell's that's basically red water in a can.
Food, drinks, atmosphere where all great. The noise level was acceptable, music was good but the lights were a little too low, even for me and I have good eyes.
I will definitely be back soon!
