  • Went to the ER in excruciating pain and I was taken back fairly quickly. I wasn't impressed with the front desk or the triage nurse. They could use a lot of additional training on customer care. I've never been in a place of medical care where the staff had so much attitude! Very unprofessional staff! Once I was in the back, the nurses were pretty good but nothing spectacular. The doc came in and I felt like I was in good hands (so I thought). They gave me pain medication however, they were never able to control the pain to the level that I felt comfortable. They ran tests and were able to make a diagnosis. They decided to release me to go home with antibiotics and pain pills even after I expressed my concern that I was still in a great amount of pain at the hospital and that I was worried that I wouldn't be able to tolerate the pain at home with the pain medication. (I later found out that I could have refused to leave the hospital but I found that out too late). Anyways, I get home and the pain pills don't work and I'm in worse pain than when I went to ER. I began vomiting and I called the ER to let them know that the pain pills were not working and they said that there was nothing they could do and advised me to just come back! Come back? WTH?? I just left the place 4 hours ago! Why would I go back there? To make a long story short, I didn't go back to that ER but ended up going to Mercy Hospital where they admitted me immediately into the hospital and got my pain under control with no problem. Banner Gateway should have never released me in the first place. I needed to be admitted and they sent me home with a life threatening illness, made me suffer inhumanely and then got paid for it from the insurance. I guess they wanted to get paid a second time but I wasn't going to be stupid enough to go back to a place that didn't take care of me in the first place.
