  • About a year ago, the wacky girl I was dating at the time called me on a Sunday morning. "Get ready. I'm comin' ta getcha." "Whuh?" It was 11AM. On a Sunday morning. "I'm comin' ta getcha." "Where we goin'? Church?" "Just get ready. Ya got an hour." I showered before bed, so all I needed was a shave and a change of clothes. She shows up. And we're drivin' and drivin' and drivin'... "Where are you takin' me?" "You'll see," she says, humming away like a little girl. Yeah, she was 30 something going on 9. "Ohhhhh." I remember the local TV spots for this place. "I wanna ride Go-Karts," she explained with wild green eyes and a mischievious grin. Basically it's like Chuck E. Cheese except they have an outdoor Go-Kart track on which I almost wrecked. I kept thinking of Ace Frehley's "Rock Soldiers" or Black Sabbath's Ian Gillan-era classic "Trashed". We never tried their food, so I can't comment on that. We played Laser Tag also and defeated a guy and his young son in a tight match. The little fella was a killer! Let's hope he doesn't end up working for Blackwater someday. And they had an arcade version of Guitar Hero! I had no idea there was such a thing. Believe it not, it was the first and only time I ever played it. They have the standard bin fulla plastic balls and games in which you can (never) win all sorts of (unattainable) prizes. Who's really gonna win an XBox, and how many parents are gonna go broke trying? Yes, it was a little awkward (for me anyway) being the only adults in there without kids. We gave our remaining tickets away and split after about 2 hours. If ya got little ones and you're a city-dweller, they might want to come here, but I imagine Chuck E. Cheese has most of the same stuff (haven't been to one in many years) and is closer to home. The rating reflects my own inner 9 year old, but I'm not coming all the way out here again unless I sire progeny.
