I have stopped in to State Meats a few times, each hoping to be "WOW-ED" but it never happens. The food is delicious. Authentic, well-prepared and aplenty. I love the smoked meats- kielbasa, sausages, hot dogs. The German potato salad, potato pancakes, stuffed cabbage.... everything I've tried is very good.
What lacks here is the service. It's very inconsistent and at times has been downright poor. I was in on 7/9, in the last half hour of the day and I was certainly treated like it was the last half hour of the day. The girl made it clear she didn't really want to help me and put on a good sass while she begrudged through it.
If I'm in the neighborhood, I may swing in again, but the variety (no chicken, no steaks) and service will keep me from recommending it to anyone.
