| - Awful stay! I usually stay at El Cortez in their cabana suites, but Oasis at Gold Spike was $14 on hotels.com, so I thought I'd give them a try. With the resort fee it was just under $40.
I drove up from California and arrived at 4am and checked in with a woman working the overnight. I asked her about a late checkout, and she told me I could have until 1pm. Great!
The room was pretty bad, but I didn't expect much. It did reek of smoke, and the A/C was loud as all hell. But it was one night, so a quick sleep was all I need.
I was woken up at around 12:30pm by the hotel manager who told me check out was at 11am. I explained I had a late check out, and even put a handwritten note on my door so the maids wouldn't wait me. He informed me I did NOT have a late checkout, and I told him to call the overnight girl.
Once I showered and came down to the office, I was told that the girl never said I had late check out. LIE! I was never informed of a fee, and this manager refused to reverse the charge. I asked him to call his boss, and it went straight to voice mail. An email to the manager from me explaining the situation has gone unanswered for two days.
I will have to call my credit card to dispute the charge. What a waste of my time, and they're going to get a chargeback. We all lose.
Don't stay at this hotel!
