The Humber theatre is a independent cinema on the corner of Bloor and Jane, right across from Jane Station. I had a pleasant experience and I'll tell you why it was not 100% perfect.
Pros:
-Cheap and tasty concession items
-Cheap movies on Tuesdays
-Sound quality is pretty decent compared to Cineplex theatres
-Small auditoriums
Cons:
-Seats look old and almost outdated
-On days other than Tuesday you pay the same amount of money as a cineplex, but get less for your money. For example a ticket at Cineplex is 12.99 and a ticket at Humber is 13.00. Cineplex offers better quality audio and visuals for the same price as humber.
-Because it's not a Cineplex you can't use your scene card
-Not all movies are played especially horror movies(I have not seen one at the Humber!)
My overall experience with Humber was good. I just don't think I will be a frequent visitor due to me being a heavy scene card user. If Humber had their own loyalty program it would be great. The nachos I had were really good, too bad I didn't get to try the popcorn though(I chose nachos instead). The only thing I have to add is that the theatre needs renovations. Auditorium renovations(get nicer looking seats) and just renovations in general(make the place look nice and enjoyable). It could use more signage and decoration. The Humber is great if you just want to watch a movie but is bad if you want to use a loyalty card or want a premium movie experience.
