  • What can I say?... We've been to the Old Fashioned four times, and, yes, the food is good and, yes, they have a nice selection of beer at a reasonable price. What I don't like about the Old Fashioned is waiting well over an hour to be seated with no real room at the bar to relax while we wait. Our last straw was the night we went to see a play on a Thursday night that started at 7:30. We arrived at the Old Fashioned at 5:30. Our mistake was not realizing this restaurant is treated like Sardi's by the people in Madison who are apparently willing to stand and wait a considerable length of time to eat an egg-topped burger. We waited 1 1/2 hours to be seated. It had originally started out as 45 minutes but the wait time kept getting extended. We finally had to leave before we were seated to make it to our play on time. When we went back after the play to finally get a bite to eat, they wouldn't let us back in because my daughter wasn't 21. And that's how that went... Sure I like a good burger, but service is important to me also. We won't be going back. If you're looking for some great cheese curds, just hit a Mallards game. You'll get delicious cheese curds, a place to sit and a great game to watch!
