  • When I first noticed a this cider house I was eager to try it. I waited about a week after it opened to happily check the place out, Unfortunately, I was sorely disappointed. My visit was a Saturday afternoon which I thought allow me to fully experience this new pub. Atmosphere- Small, Warm(too warm), and clearly hastily put together on a budget. The bar seats approx. 10-15. There are a few two-top tables that were empty. The space fits in well with most of the other old run down bars on the East end of Madison. The space gives the vibe of a bowling ally bar with cheap stock photos of apples and orchards hung in cheap frames. Again, I had high hopes for this place, but was instantly disappointed. Service- Bar was mostly full so we were told to sit at one of the tables. We waited over 10 minutes for one 1 of the 3 guys tending the bar to come over and talk to us so we could order. After ordering we waited another 5-10 minutes to get the drinks we ordered. There seemed to be not much emphasis on the customer experience and a lot of trying to figure things out. The three barkeeps did a lot of talking to each other and not with customers. We ordered a flight of 8 ciders to try. When they did arrive, they were presented on a poorly made wooden paddle. The gentleman that brought took our order and brought our drinks, however, appeared to be the only one concerned with our experience and was fairly knowledgeable about the product. As my cider knowledge is limited, I will say this. The ciders we did have were mostly delicious. They are more like a wine, and less like a beer. All exceptionally sweet, With some serious attention to details, this new pub has great potential. If the hap-hazard atmosphere continues, I'd venture to say; this place will struggle to make it a year in this location. Decent drinks- Poor experience.
