| - I went to Yonge Market 506 today for the first time after reading such positive reviews about it - while I agree with the other reviews for the most part, I was slightly let down (but only for a couple of reasons).
It looks like a regular produce store and it's nice and cosy. It's also great that it's located just 5 mins from me so picking up food basics was pretty convenient. They had pretty much everything you could hope for when it comes to fruits and vegetables and they also had random other things like condiments, eggs, milk, hand soaps and toilet paper to name a few. Overall, I was happy with the selection and was able to pick up basic food stuffs like olive oil, mushrooms, potatoes and so on for less than what you'd probably get at, say, Loblaws.
I was, however, a bit disappointed that they didn't have a slightly broader selection in terms of what they offer - I would've liked to see at least bread and meat for sale. I'm not saying they should stock a large variety of items, but just a bit more would've been great.
All in all, good place to get basics, cheap, nice people as well.
