| - Wow....just wow. The lack of professionalism, compassion and respect displayed not only by staff, but by this doctor is appalling !
Our visit began with standing outside of the office to wait for a "first morning appointment" that was overbooked three times over. The technician that met us- Adriana-was discourteous, rude, and unprofessional. Accompanying the patient as his medical power of attorney is my duty- but Her focus was less on the proper care for the patient than on her insistence that if we expressed questions or concerns, he would be shuffled down the list to grow old in the waiting room- just insanely rude and unprofessional.
Once seen, Jerold Boyer- a.k.a- the person disguising himself as a doctor, without a greeting, or introduction, and much less than a nod, took less than 3 minutes to take a cursory glance into the ear area of the patient. He then diagnosed the 70 year old as having only an excess of wax. When we made the mistake of asking a few questions, this person- disguising himself as someone who, at some time, took the Hippocratic Oath- became irritated and agitated and escorted us out of the room in an extremely rude manner. His reply to our questions...."Well what ailment do you want him to have?". Having lived with the patient, having waited some time for the appointment of 3 minutes and 30 seconds, we wanted to be able to understand the diagnosis in order to determine next steps. The hearing loss suffered by the patients own testimony has been significant- but that person in doctors disguise apparently did not have time to hear about it (pun intended !!). We actually had to suggest and practically beg for a referral to a specialist (which, needless to say, we are not going to chance calling, in fear that we'd encounter a repeat performance of today !)
The sad thing is that we pay quite dearly for the ppo insurance coverage needed and used to see this particular doctor. We did not get the referral from another doctor, we just went thru our insurance network and found this person. We are sorely disappointed, and will definitely shout this experience from the rooftops.
Funny thing is, when we called the doctors office to let the office manager know exactly how we felt, we found out that this rude, nasty, disregarding, unprofessional treatment was not uncommon or personal. Apparently, there exists in the office a discomfort overall that effectively pervades all. This is sad.
We recommend that you find another doctor, and that you never never never have to be in the position as we were to actually pay to be treated this poorly !!!
