Mother's Day Brunch. Reviews were good so we had high hopes. We had reservations and were seated right away. It took quite a while for a waitress to come over and take our order. At least five different wait staff brought things to our table during the course of the meal and they all seemed confused and didn't know what we had ordered. We ordered iced tea, coffee and water to drink. We got the iced tea and coffee pretty quickly brought by someone else. Had to flag someone down and ask for the water again. The coffee was very good. We ordered beneigts to start, eggs Benedict and a Belgian waffle and a side of scrambled eggs. The beneigts came pretty timely and were fresh and tasty. We waited a very long time for the rest. A different I waitress brought the waffle and eggs Benedict to the table. No side of scrambled eggs and no syrup for the waffle. We mentioned the missing items. It was very strange but the eggs Benedict was ICE cold as if it had been in a refrigerator (yes it was THAT cold) and the egg yolks were over cooked like a hard boiled egg. The waffle was also cold and soggy. When a waitress came with the scrambled eggs (and still no syrup) we asked her to please send our dishes back as they were cold. She took them away. We got refills on our coffee and iced tea. Funny thing is that the iced tea refill was some kind of hibiscus minty tasting tea, not what we first had. That's when our original waitress put the bill on the table. We told her what had happened and that we hadn't eaten yet. We asked her to please just charge us for the beneigts, coffee and iced tea so that we could leave because we had already waited a very long time and didn't want to wait another 30 minutes. She apologized and said she would let her boss know. All of the wait staff seemed frenzied. While we were waiting for our adjusted bill here came another eggs Benedict and waffle. We were surprised but figured we'd go ahead and eat and just pay our full bill. We again had to ask for syrup as it had never been brought to the table. Just then a nice man came to our table to apologize about the cold food and wanted to make sure it was hot this time. I took a bite of the eggs Benedict and said yes, thank you, it seems to be fine this time. It was warm this time and the eggs were cooked properly but it wasn't very flavorful. I didn't finish it because quite frankly it was rather bland and I had filled up on the three cups of coffee I drank while waiting for our food. I noticed my husband wasn't eating the waffle and asked him what was wrong. He said it was warm this time but it was soggy and not crisp as a Belgian waffle should be. He ate about 1/8 of the waffle. At this point we sort of gave up and placed our plates away from us and just waited for the bill. No one ever came back to the table to see if the food was good other than the one man who wanted to know if it was warm this time. Yet another different waiter came to the table and took the plates of uneaten food without noticing we didn't eat it or asking why we didn't eat it. We waited about 15 minutes trying to get the bill and couldn't even find our original waitress. Then the nice man came over to our table and apologized again and said that he was comping the meal. We told him about the mushy waffle and that the wait staff seemed confused and chaotic. He apologized again and said they needed to work on training. Everyone was very nice but the service was very bad and the bulk of our meal was disappointing. I don't know if this is how it always is here or they were just unorganized because it was Mother's Day? Wait staff should be assigned a section of a restaurant and attend to those table's needs but that for sure was not happening here. It wasn't a special menu for the day just the brunch one they always have listed online. It was our first time here and I would have been very embarrassed if I had brought guests here but since it was just my husband and I, and I had chosen the restaurant for my Mother's Day meal I just shrugged it off, left a tip and didn't let it ruin my day. We heard staff saying they had a new owner. I hope they get it all worked out because it looks based on former reviews that it used to be a good place to dine. They did comp our meal which was the right thing to do thus the two star rating instead of one star.
