| - I always go blonde in the beginning of the summer and I always, inevitably, hate it. I don't know why I do it. This summer my blonde tolerance broke earlier than usual and I decided to switch back in the middle of June. But I wasn't going back to the same salon that gave me that nasty shade of brassy gold blonde. No...I was looking for the best colorists in town to make me a redhead again.
Richard Cardone Hair Designers popped up on a google search for "best colorists in Pittsburgh". (Oh, my researching skills...) This place was WAY out of my way. And my appt with the salon owner and namesake, Richard, was WAY out of my price range. But SOOOOOO worth it. He knows his color. He knows what he's doing. And he promised next time I come in it won't take nearly as long :-) The man spent a good 30 minutes just talking to me about my hair; what I like, what I don't like, looking at pictures on my Iphone, etc. It was a true consultation. He even told me what shade of blonde I'll be going NEXT summer. ;-)
They're open late on Wed and Fri, and that's super convenient for me since I work late. And, now that the owner has given me the perfect shade of base color and highlights...any of the stylists can do the exact same thing for about half the cost. Brilliant. Oh, and everyone here was super friendly...a barbershop-type feel. I love this salon.
