| - If you are considering a nice dinner out, Deseo is a great selection. We were invited here to complete a dinner party for four. It is noteworthy, the main reason for the visit was to take advantage of a Groupon deal.
For appetizers, we tried the Nikkie, Ensalada de Perluche, and the Red Quinoa Soup. The soup was by far the best flavor. HINT: Add all of the spicy stuff they have on the side. The fresh tuna was great. And the salad, well... its a salad.
For the main dish, 3 of us chose the Wagyu Hanger Steak "Churrasco" style. All were ordered medium rare. The 4th in our group went with the Yuca Wrapped Dorado al Ajillo. The Mahi Mahi looked good when it arrived, but we all chowed down on the beef. It was so flavorful and tender.
For dessert, we had 3 Chocolate Cigars and an Arroz con Leche "Abuelita". The cigars were VERY rich, but fabulous. The rice pudding was good, but nothing compared to the cigars.
The only thing holding back the 5th star is the drinks. 3 mojitos and 2 old fashioned drinks was $100. Very high prices for drinks. I expect higher prices on chef prepared foods. But all the cocktails were house level, not top shelf selections. So it would be nice to see those prices a lil better.
May go back again... but only if the Groupon deal is still available.
