  • Simply the best smoked salmon in Toronto. Kristapsons has been around since 1953 - they seriously got this down to an art! This local shop in Leslieville specializes in cold-smoking the salmon to conserve much of the beneficial omega-3 oils from the fish. First heard about and tasted smoked salmon from Kristapsons was from a holiday gift to our office and I have been dreaming about them every since. Finally got a chance to go last Friday before they close! (They close very early, so be sure to check the hours first!) Bought a 250g package home for dinner... the salmon was very peachy in colour, NOT fishy at all and absolutely delicious! I made an open faced toast sandwich with a dill spread and a bit of lemon juice... so good :D The lady servicing me was very friendly and down to earth. They are hiring part-time staff now. I guess the holiday season is coming near and they need extra hands ^^ I wonder if I should give it a try since I live in the area hahaha.. Highly recommend this places for quality smoked salmon - great for family gathering, house parties, or just a simple appetizer before your meal :) I can't look at smoked salmon the same way anymore. It's just like when you go to Vancouver and have sockeye salmon sashimi and can't look at regular salmon anymore XD P.S. Price up'd already - 150g is $12, 250g is $24 now.
