Intro: My boyfriend and I love having a favorite sushi restaurant. After moving close-ish to the Vegas area, we weren't too impressed with what the strip had to offer because it all seemed overpriced and overhyped. We came here on a whim because we were hungry and this popped up on Yelp.
Pros:
-This place is absolutely amazing!!! The selection is completely unique!! What made our first visit to the restaurant a very memorable one was when the chef came out to say hi and recommend the ocean fish dish. It had an indescribable sauce (I think yuzu was in it?) and was topped with poprocks and I know that sounds strange but oh my god was it delicious!! Who would've thought? But I don't think we would've ventured beyond the happy hour menu if he hadn't suggested it.
-The happy hour is a REALLY good deal but only offers so much. Don't be afraid like we were to try other things on the menu!!
-There seems to be an army of people preparing sushi every time we go, which I feel reflects on how much priority they put on the creation of the dishes.
-Lychee or peach sake is so good! Again, we got it off the happy hour menu but I couldn't finish it by myself, they give you a decent amount. The glassware it comes in is utterly impressive too. I will have to take a picture and post it in the future....Looks like a bowl of ice water with a tulip bulb shaped vessel that sits in it. Guaranteed to make you feel fancy.
-The atmosphere is non-intimidating and feels cozy yet clean and modern.
Cons:
-Getting overstuffed on so much awesome!!!
-It's not dirt cheap, be ready to shell out $25-$30 per person if you're really hungry. Maybe $20 per person if you're moderately hungry.
Conclusion:
This is a one-of-a-kind sushi establishment and the kind of restaurant everyone needs to try at least once. It feels like you're that person on food network trying that really amazing artfully compiled dish with the "MMMmmm" face.
