  • Two very different experiences here. First was good..food excellent, service (by the owner, it turns out!) was friendly and quick.We were surprised and a little irked by the inflated EXTRA charge for the substitution of a vegetable side (instead of pasta) especially as we were NOT informed of this when ordering but instead "found" it on our bill at the end of the meal! Ambiance is pleasant, if nothing special. Second experience, with a group of 6 friends was anything BUT good. Food was mediocre (an opinion shared with virtually all our guests) and the service was distracted & chaotic. Although this was for a special occasion (info transmitted when the reservation was made), we were seated in the "back room", in a corner, facing the wall. Really felt that were were being relegated to Siberia..especially since I'd made a simple, advance "special" request for a celebrant/guest to the owner who told me in no uncertain terms that it "wasn't possible". OK. But, unlike our first experience, she made a point of not even saying Hello to us during our 2nd visit. It was an uncomfortable & frankly, weird, demonstration of her annoyance. I get the impression that only long-time "regulars" get treated well. Very disappointed as I was hoping this restaurant would find a place on my "best of" list. Well, there are a lot of good Italian restaurants in the area...I'll be spending my money at one of those.
