| - I found the hotel to be a good value for the price. Was impressed with the quality of the rooms, pool, restaurant, bar, and breakfast. Overall the hotel exceeded my expectations so I'm a little baffled by the recent negative reviews.
I stayed the weekend here as part of a large group, so I ended up seeing many other rooms including cabana suites, as well as my own room. You do have to request a refrigerator if you want one for your room. I had a ground floor king room and the bed was great (honestly, anywhere you stay you should check over your room when you arrive, and if it has a crappy bed or something, ask to switch). My room key worked fine all weekend. I did not experience any smells or cleanliness issues, or problems with hot water or my room key. I was actually expecting the hotel to be less "new-ish" looking but walls, carpets, bathrooms, bedding, furniture, etc were all well-kept. Sunday afternoon I saw the staff running a carpet cleaner in the hallways and all locations in the hotel smelled fresh all weekend.
The property is really nice - lots of shade from trees and covered tables in the courtyard area. There are 2 pools (not heated) with both shaded area and sunny area all day. The bar has an outdoors walk-up area, plus an indoor dining + bar area. There's a sandy volleyball area with a playground. The cabana suites are located on a large roof deck with a nice view and a pool that is currently drained. The breakfast buffet had a lot of options: eggs, potatoes, sausage, fruit, biscuits/gravy, waffle maker, muffins/bagels, etc. Food from the restaurant is also really good with interesting menu options.
ALL the hotel staff were incredibly friendly, accommodating, and responsive. I've stayed other places with large groups and it can get hectic, and this crew handled everything well and gave off a genuinely happy vibe. Our group will be booking this hotel for our next event.
