| - In many ways this hotel is a cross between a nice hotel in Europe and a bling fest in Vegas.
Europe: Lovely soaps and luxurious towels & bedding; bathrobes and slippers, too. Put your keycard in the slot by the door for the electric lights to work. Nice artwork.
Vegas: The lights under the edge of the beds. It's kind of strange. Most of the rest of the furnishings and decoration are more high end and tasteful. The shower has multiple heads, but is so complicated that it requires a laminated cheat sheet! Still, it's all whimsical, too.
This is a new hotel. We weren't aware of airplane noise, which shouldn't be a surprise because of the new materials and techniques available, but we are right next to the airport. But the noise in the hallways is unacceptable.
At a little after eight this morning, housekeeping tapped on our door to see if our room was available. We usually get up and get going, but this seemed a bit early.
There is one washer and one dryer for the whole hotel. This might not be the kind of hotel where most guests would want to do laundry, but this seems skimpy. Not skimpy, however, is that the hotel provides the laundry powder!
Most of the photos accompanying these reviews have been glam shots - lights under the beds, soaps, etc. Mine are from the bathroom.
First, the compliment!
Every hotel has a "Save The Planet" card so you don't ask them to do unnecessary laundry. BUT! They NEVER have hooks to hang towels on. Clique does! Yay for them!
Next regarding the bathroom is a photo of the gorgeous rock lining the shower stall. Unfortunately, it was cut improperly during construction and never sealed up (or corrected). This hole will collect water and cause all kinds of problems.
The staff are helpful, courteous, available.
