  • I'm giving this hotel one star because I cannot give it zero . The Best Western Plus Thunderbird advertises online that it has room service, that there are pillow tops on the beds, there is luxury bedding, An outdoor spa and a beautiful swimming pool. It also advertises a buffet breakfast that is included oom. I paid for this room online at a premium price. When my husband and I arrived we asked about room service because we wanted to eat in our room for our anniversary. We were informed they don't have room service. We were further informed we could have wings and beer delivered to our room by a bartender if we chose to eat wings, but that was all that was available. When I asked about breakfast I was told that what they actually serve is a continental breakfast, not a buffet. When we got to our room the air conditioning did not work and they moved us to a second room. The bathroom is so tiny that your elbow hits the toilet paper when you're sitting on the toilet and you have a hard time closing the door to get to the bathtub. The beds do not have pillow tops; what they have is a mattress cover. There is no luxury bedding. I booked this room through Travelocity and called Travelocity to tell them that Best Western completely lied about their services when they stated them to Travelocity. Travelocity contacted the hotel and was told that we would be upgraded to a much better room because we did not get what we paid for. When we returned to the hotel, we were told all the rooms were sold out and we had to take the room we had; we could choose not to stay but we would still be charged for the night. We finally decided to just go to the pool and the spa and make the best of it. When we got to the pool we found several sections of cement busted on the sides of the pool creating a safety hazard, the bottom of the pool was filthy and the hand railing was not even attached and was laying on the ground. There was also busted cement in the spa and a broken water vent. The spa also would not turn on to give jetted water. I took photos of all the safety hazards in the pool area and fully intend to call the Health Board to report it. This has to be one of the worst rooms for the dollar amount that I have ever stayed in. Definitely not worth the money.
