| - This store is quaint, unique and has a really cool vibe! From the time I walked into this store, I was so intrigued. These are the kind of bookstores that I crave. You can have your Barnes and Noble, but give me The Writer's Block, City Lights, Shakespeare and Company and The Notting Hill Bookstore any day of the week.
Upon entering the store, to the right there are current novels and books to peruse and review. A ton of interesting titles to choose from and many subjects as well. I am a bookworm and am always reading. As you move through the store, there are book sections set up for science, mysteries, philosophy, current affairs and in each area, there seems to be a standing hero from days gone by. I loved the Amelia Earhart! There is a dedicated children area along with some board games available for purchase like Monopoly and Parcheesi. They also feature some unusual t-shirts and buttons with one word adjectives listed! The store offers writing bookshops for young kids up to age 18 which I will be passing on this information to my daughter. Parking is minimal so be prepared to either park on the street or at a public lot and walk over.
My favorite part of the store was meeting Baron the Bunny! He apparently is the supreme ruler of the bookstore and I got him to look up and strike a pose for me while I was checking out. The young man who took care of my transaction explained to me that Baron was found alone somewhere down on Fremont Street. They rescued him and now he lives a very comfortable and happy life here at the store.
This will be a new shop for me to patronize in the downtown area when I need to unwind and escape into new worlds.
