| - I came here because a friend invited me and all I have to say are good things.
DISCLAIMER: This is an indepth review if you're considering getting a membership.
My first impression was oh, this place is going to have a pricey membership-- and I was right. But it is ALL well worth it. Why you ask?
First and foremost, there isn't a yearly contract. It is a month to month membership and to cancel all you have to do is let them know 30 days in advance. (so that's already a relief because I've been stuck in a contract at LVAC a place I never even go to anymore)
Second, the locker room/shower facilities are AMAZING. I feel that they paid attention to details and absolutely do not cut corners and give you your money's worth. The locker rooms come fully stocked with towels, q-tips, cotton balls, mouth wash, disposable razors, J.R. watkin's handsoap, conditioner, body wash, and shampoo. You don't even need to remember to bring your lock-- because your membership card slides right into the locker slot, and out pops a key.
All the group fitness classes such as bar bell strength, pilates, yoga, etc AND the 30 ft rock climbing wall (which DOES include equipment such as a harness and shoes)
There is also a spa for hair/nails/massage there, an indoor and outdoor pool with water slides and a really good healthy Lifecafe (which isn't over priced)
I really feel comfortable here and that I could spend the day doing different activities and take advantage of their classes.
The membership also includes a "myhealthscore" evaluation where they evaluate your blood glucose, triglycerides, HDL cholesterol, VO2 and more.
The coordinator that helped me was Ariel H and she was extremely knowledgeable. She answered all of my questions and made the whole process smooth.
Why the 2 stars other yelpers? Before I signed up I had the chance to analyze other reviews on the 2 stars because of the kids. The gym is a family gym and I actually like the fact that it is a family gym. When I was there yesterday it was very holiday festive and the facility provided a "meeting with Santa" for the kids.
I feel that the gym is really trying to bring the community together. They even have a commitment day 5k coming up on 1.1.13 to recommit fitness and healthy living.
I can really tell that this facility gives you the accessibility to reach your goals-- and they actually care. What gym have you been to that you can say the same for? For me, none.
I'm glad I found Lifetime in the time I did because I feel that I can really make that commitment and reach my goals with their help ( I didn't really know what areas I was deficient in with microvitamins, etc.)
