  • I discovered Yann Haute through Yelp. I was searching for desserts and when I stumbled upon Yann Haute Patisserie I really couldn't contain myself while reading the reviews so I decided to look for this treasure chest and give them a try. Yann is located in Mission, just off 23rd street in the SW, it's a bright yellow house that you just can't miss. There is street parking along with a park and pay right beside Yann's. I don't usually pay for parking because I'm just running in for a few minutes so I get Spence to stay in the car while I splurge. Giddy (as per usual) I make my steps into Yann. The door is bluish purple and the door handle is cute because it's shaped as a "Y" for Yann. My first step into the building I can already smell the precious French pastries... "OMG OMG MMMM" I say to myself. It's just a small area with pastries and a cashier, and that's all they really need!! There were a few people ahead of me, so I took my time to look at the goodies. The macaron display was just so colorful and pretty, when it was finally my turn to pick what I wanted...I couldn't choose which macarons so I asked (vanilla cream with a strawberry dollop in the center, SOO GOOD), PB&J (I just love this one for some reason...peanut butter mmm) and mint chocolate (perfect mint to chocolate ratio). Spencer enjoyed half the chocolate éclair because I had for one of each! Of course there were so many other beautiful looking pastries that I COULDN'T just get the maracons. I asked for suggestions and she suggested the chocolate éclair because it wasn't there all the time. Yann usually has flavor cycles with a dozen different ones that are offered in the shop so they might not have the one you wanted unless it's in the permanent collection! Since I got one of each, it was a little hard to tell which was which; I did enjoy certain ones more than the others. My favorites were the strawberry vanilla to try it too! They treat their pastries like fine jewelry...exquisite, deliciousness to all senses! They look like art but taste like heaven. Yann is closed on Mondays and just extended their Sunday hours to close at 6:00pm as opposed to 2pm (HURRAY!! Or no?) I highly recommend Yann Haute Patisserie if that sweet tooth is wanting some fine pastries or even if you feel like trying something that tastes like heaven ;) GO....ASAP! ps. they also do catering!!
