| - [Edited March 2017 to add that apparently the Jam Factory is under new management. Below is my review from November 2015].
My family recently held a huge event at the Jam Factory. While the space itself was beautifully transformed, working with Morgan, the Jam Factory manager, was truly a worst case scenario.
Morgan was an impossibly awful communicator. He was often unavailable, making a habit of ignoring our calls and emails. When we did reach him he acted as though our questions about the space and staffing were simply annoying to him telling us more than once that he was a very busy person. He made clear that dealing with us was a waste of his time.
Several months into our contract and months after we'd made our deposit, Morgan attempted to change the terms of our contract --he wanted to charge us more money and provide less staffing and furniture.
Morgan wasn't well organized either: On the morning of the event itself he had not arranged any staff to unlock the door for us nor did he have someone there working while we set up --staffing time we had paid for. Also, the recently fire damaged wall on the north side of the space was not repaired, as promised, nor covered even cosmetically by the time of our event which meant we were left to our own devices, including the cost and labour of dealing with a quick, last minute fix that morning.
(As a side note, the electrical in this place was troubling, to say the least).
Morgan's managerial and customer service skills were all around inadequate and caused us a lot of stress. I would recommend looking for another venue --the beauty of The Jam Factory space is not worth the hassle of dealing with all of this nonsense.
