  • I received the worst care at AZ Arthritis and under the care of Dr. Paul Caldron. Not sure where to begin, but here goes. Wait times here are consistently long, but the staff always were nice. The check out lady was constantly swamped and super-stressed out. Would usually take 15 minutes to confirm the basics (next appointment, lab order for upcoming blood work, etc.) upon checkout. That brings me to Dr. Caldron, whom displayed a deplorable lack of couth and professionalism as medical practitioner. It was quite common for him to act aloof, not retain eye contact and be needlessly curt throughout examinations. The last straw was about halfway through an appointment on one occasion; I had wanted to discuss my current strength levels in conjunction with the current meds. And before I could get half of the sentence out, Dr. Caldron interjected abruptly, "This conversation is over". It was not just that he cut me off (and like so many others seem to experience from the Doctors here), but it was in the rude and loud manner in which he spoke down to me. Behavior like this demonstrated by a healthcare professional is disconcerting. He hadn't even asked if there were any other questions or issues; Dr. Caldron simply shut down and ended the Appointment. I had two or three other important questions pertaining my care (that entailed me coming off one drug and with respect to my current workout regime going forward). However, I did not get a chance to convey these additional concerns and questions. A shame. I mentioned to the girl at the checkout counter that I had never been treated in such a manner and that she would likely not be seeing my refurn. And I held to my word. What's more, I had a surgery some months later and the topic came up about this very office. The nurse confirmed she too was a patient of this office/Doctor and shared a very similar experience. The Dr. basically told this Nurse that she asked way too many questions and didn't know what she was talking about. It is not always easy (or fun) to write a poor review. I recommend you to steer clear of AZ Arthritis & Rheumatology. This office lost me as a patient and I hope my review may prevent at least one person from making the same mistake that I had in going there. Feel free to Google Dr. Paul Caldron for other reviews and you will find many similar instances echoing that of mine and other Yelp members. You can't treat people this way. It's unkind.
