| - This is my favorite Scottsdale Sprouts location! I find check out lines to be quicker and staff in general to be more cheerful and helpful. I love how they have complimentary small bags of ice to take with you to keep all your goodies nice and cold in this heat.
Today they were running samples of a local salsa which was delish! I wish they would run samples more often, because 90% of the time I visit they do not have them or only for some energy drink. I come to Sprouts for real food so an energy drink is not too exciting for me.
That said, Sprouts is great for produce! If you are juicing or just following a more plant centric diet - this is the place for you. I love their 72 hour sales - I managed to get a bunch of 75 cent blueberries. Overall I find their produce to be fresher and more plentiful over they competition, especially if you are after Organic.
Their meats are good, but the prices are really only good when they hit sales. I love when they put chicken breasts and their homemade sausages/sausage meat on sale. The seafood section is a little sparse, but what they do have is great when they run sales. This week they had the jumbo scallops for $9.99LB and the colossal shrimp for $6.99LB. I have also found that their lobster tails taste better than the competition, so I prefer to get mine here.
Breads are hit and miss, and the brand name breads unless on sale, I find are more expensive. Salad mixes are ok, and fresh herbs again are hit and miss.
The cheese section needs some work. Yes, they do have a lot of packaged cheese and block cheese, but if you are a fan of soft ripened cheese the selection is sparse. They usually have one or two brie's (which I didn't care for) and no Camembert. I would love to see more exotic cheeses, because I usually have to wait for Trader Joe's, Costco or AJ's. Sliced meats are good with lots of variations of chicken and turkey flavors, but can run high without a sale.
Cream cheese is overpriced here, even their own brand - I can find better priced cream cheese just about everywhere else, the same issue for eggs and butter.
The bulk section is amazing, especially for nuts and if they are on sale it's like hitting the jackpot! Seriously, you won't find as good of a deal on nuts anywhere else.
Lastly, the aisles are hit and miss. I find your every day staples like flour, yeast, sugar, icing sugar to be insanely priced and would recommend going else where. Their own brand salsas and tomato sauces are reasonably priced, and become too hard to resist when they are on sale.
