| - Copper Star is a converted old school gas station in the middle of the Melrose District serving up delicious coffee for over ten years. The staff is friendly and they have vegan options for their baked goods. While Copper Star has a great reputation, it is also a place you have to try more than once for it to grow on you.
This tiny café is a great spot to catch up or meet with a group, and the Yarn-Knitting Club may still meet there on Wednesday evenings.
The first time I came, I tried their Lavender Mocha and it just wasn't that great. The mocha overpowered the lavender, and when I did taste the lavender it tasted harsh. I spoke with a barista afterward and they agreed that that is a tough mix to get right, but to give CS a second chance.
With that in mind, I bravely came back and I ordered an iced Raspberry Mocha latte instead, and I was sold. Every morning, well, most mornings, I drive up to the dinky drive thru to get my Raspberry Mocha on the way to work, and even though it's rich in mocha, it's a damn strong brew, and it's all I need to get my day started.
