| - So I really have to admit liking this place. Generally I try to stay away from chain businesses (esp restaurants) but I make an exception with Cobs. There are other locations around the city but this is the one that I like to go to. While I try to stay away from most carbs, white flour, sugar and dairy, there are items here that I can eat, that are healthful and tasty! My main go to is the Cape Seed Loaf! Though it's not low in calories, it is dense with nutrients, very high in fibre (28%!) and in iron (25%) - which for me is good, because I'm anemic. Check it out: http://www.cobsbread.com/what-we-bake/product-information/productdetails/prod-cape_seed_loaf
Also, it's great toasted, the nuttiness of the seeds comes out as it's toasted. The staff here are great, friendly and helpful. Every single suggestion they ve ever made to me has been right on the money! Today I needed some bread for finger sandwiches and the nice lady made some great suggestions for buns. I've already scarfed one down (the white w sesame seeds - shhh!!) It was light and flavourful and tasty! I've liked everything I've ever purchased there. If you buy bread, be sure to get the card, and after a certain amount of loaves, you get a free one! Yaay! They also don't sell day old baked goods. Wanna know why? Because they give it all to charity: http://www.cobsbread.com/cobs-cares/end-of-day-giving. Good bread, good karma!
