| - Love, love, love this place!
I was lucky enough to be invited to my first UYE (Unofficial Yelp Event) at Paymons. Lots of good eats, great conversation, service and atmosphere. The perfect mix of Greek, Indian, some Italian and I loved that there were a ton of Vegetarian options!
Appetizers:
I had the infamous Athens Fries, which lived up to their reputation. The spice really added to the fries and the sauce was delish. I kept trying to figure out what was in the sauce as if I were at a wine tasting.. lol.. never did figure it out, but well worth it!
The hummus with pesto sauce was bomb. Adding the pesto sauce probably took away from the healthy factor, but, when in Rome...
Entrees:
I ordered the Chicken Curry (mild) and my other half had the Chicken Tandoori. The flavors were perfect and not overly spicy. We were both part of the clean plate club.
Unfortunately, I didn't leave room for dessert. I highly regretted this when I got home. Next time, I must indulge. Mama's Baklava is calling my name.
As far as drinks, they had a great wine list, a killer margarita and their unsweetened tea was so good, it was almost as if it were sweetened. As a southerner, I'm not a fan of iced unsweetened tea, but they make it work! There were also a variety of warm tea to choose from.. Lots of green tea, Mango, Earl Grey, Spiced Chai, etc..etc.. A perfect way to end a meal!
The service was perfect! We were a large party (around 20 peeps) and I don't think there was a single hiccup. I was also impressed with how the server was able to effortlessly split about fifteen different tabs. If only I could remember his name! Shame on me.
I didn't check out the Hookah Lounge; Shisha tends to give me a headache. Maybe next time.
Great food! I'll be back!
