  • I actually liked the design of the custom cake that I had made here, but they get one star for poor service! I placed my order thru email with the manager/owner and initially was pleased that she replied promptly and helped me in what options to select for the cake. The quote she gave seemed a little high, but I was okay with that considering I was only giving her a 1-wk notice. When we arrived to pick up the cake it was in the display. I thought it was adorable. However, there were a few cracks in the top and the writing on the cake wasn't the best. For the price she quoted I expected a flawless cake. So we were able to negotiate a discounted price. We had requested to speak directly with the manager, but she never came out. That should have been the cue to snatch my props off the cake and peel out! Instead, due to being pressed for time as my mom's bday party was in 2 hours, we decided to go ahead and buy it. This is where they earned one star: they placed the cake in a box that was way too big for the cake and no lid! We had to ASK them to cover it and they placed Saran Wrap on top of it! What type of bakery makes a cake that they have no container for and presents it to the customer for them to carry out and transport exposed?! And the thing is, it was a standard sized cake! I went home and was able to place the cake in my own cake saver from home. If I had known I would have simply brought my own cake-saver to the bakery. That would have been better than having to carry an exposed cake around and transport it in the car like that. Also we had wanted to conceal the cake at the party until my mom was ready to see it, so much for that! The cake itself was okay, not the best cake. The flavor was good, however, It wasn't fresh and had a cornbread dryness to it. I wasn't impressed. I wouldn't recommend here for a custom cake primarily due to the service and presentation of the cake. I went here based on the high yelp reviews but didn't consider that most of these reviews were from people who were just grabbing pre-made goodies or simple items. SMH...
