  • I initially hired the LV Yard Doctor for the landscaping of our new home. I discovered they had a house company when we discussed the outdoor kitchen. We ended up using them to install a farm sink and a granite backsplash. The owner, Tim, takes the headaches out of the home renovation process. His staff is also easy to work with and responds with lightning speed. I'm the really annoying type, kind of OCD, and a micromanager. The staff and Tim were very patient with me. I never sensed they were frustrated with me even though I had a million questions and text messages. Tim was always available to answer my questions. I met with several contractors for our yard and I never felt like he was trying to sell me on a product. He took time to see what I wanted, made a few suggestions here and there, but overall he is very laid back in his approach. For the granite backsplash, Tim went to several granite places. He came back with pictures and discussed which one he felt would match our current granite the best. The one he ended up picking was a great match. During the granite backsplash install, they laid out plastic from our entry to the range to keep our floors clean. The backsplash (counter to ceiling) was heavier than anticipated so they ended up having to remove our oven and stovetop to put wooden braces underneath to hold the granite slab up. I think the labor was more intensive than anticipated since it took quite a few guys to get the slab up onto the wall. I like that he sticks to his quote and does not add extra "surprise" charges along the way. I know other companies who add charges along the way. For our farm sink, they also created a barrier when they were cutting into our granite island for the sink, to limit dust to the rest of the house. For the sink, once it was installed, the cabinet doors below had to be modified for the new height. They did an amazing job, the doors and the stain look like the belong to the original house. I like that they keep me in the loop as the project progresses and if there are any delays. After the projects were completed, Tim also did a walk through to see what comments we had and if anything needed to be changed. He noticed things that I didn't, like the guys were a little heavy on the caulking used. He'll be sending someone to touch up the little things. I honestly cannot say enough good things about the way his company does business.
